Welcome Back To School

We have had an fantastic start to the new year! Our students have been working on routines and practicing them at every turn-this includes everything from how to walk down the hallway to practicing how to raise your hand and focus on the speaker. We intend for this year to be greater than any. The corporation theme this year is Be Greater and our goal at RES is to be the GREATEST! .

School-wide Theme

We had great success with challenging our students to become better readers last year. We continue to ask our students to read at least 20 minutes per night. Each student should be able to identify his/her reading level and know how to choose a ‘just right’ book. We want to see those books in their hands on a regular basis. Please help by signing your child’s reading log every night. Open library is from 8:40-8:55 on Mondays and Thursdays so students can get new books. We are expanding on our reading theme from last year by Thinking Outside the Hat’. We want our students to develop their critical thinking skills. They should be able to problem solve real life problems and apply their skills as a lifelong learner. So keep up the great reading and try to incorporate asking your child questions about what they read.
