Week of August 26-30 NEWS

Week of August 26-30

Birthday invitations:  Just a reminder, birthday invitations are no longer allowed to be sent to school.  This was a new rule for all GCCS elementary buildings last year. For more information, please refer to p. 7 (check page) of your child’s student handbook in the front of the student planner.

Powerschool:  Please be sure you are signed up to access your child’s grades on powerschool. To get started with this you will need to visit https://pschool.gcs.k12.in.us/public/ and then click the Parent Sign In Button.  More information is on page 17 of your child’s student handbook. If you have any questions please contact the office 812-288-4868.

Sports updates: Cross country will be practicing this week Monday – Thursday until 4:15pm. If you have not paid the $5.00 fee, please send in with your students as soon as possible.

Picture Day: This Friday August 30th will be picture day. Flyers went home with students last Thursday. Parents can order online at inter-state.com/order using the code 43003TA. Please contact the office if you have any questions. 812-288-4868.

PAC: Meeting Wednesday August 28th at 6:00 in the library. Come and find out how you can get involved!

Attendance Reminders:

Please remember that if you drop your child off late or pick your child up early due to an appointment, we will need a doctor statement to excuse the tardy. You may send it in or have the doctor fax it to us- 812-288-4894

If your child is absent from school, please call the office by 9:30. The administration building automatically sends out a robo call for any student who is not accounted for as a safety protocol.

Drop off/Pick Up:  Please do not allow students out of cars until the morning bell rings at 8:40am.

If you are parking and dropping your students off please make sure to walk them to the front entrance area. This is for the students safety.

Birth Certificates: All students are required by law to have a copy of their birth certificate and shot records in their school records. We are currently reviewing all students’ permanent records to ensure we are in compliance with the laws. If the office does not have these on file for your student, please get this to us ASAP. All students missing birth certificates are supposed to be reported to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
