Week of September 21-25 NEWS

Week of September 21-25

This week is the last week of Quarter 1.

Cross Country

The orange group (gr 3 and mySchool students) will have their meet at Riverside at 4:45 on Tuesday this week.  The blue group (gr 4 and 5 students) will have their meet at RES at 4:45 on Wednesday.  Please make sure runners are here and meet Mr. Houston in the field by the playground at 4:30.  The course will cross both parking lots.  The bus lot will be closed at 4:45 and the car rider lot will be limited in traffic while the race is going on.

After school care

On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, if you are picking your student up from after care between 4:30 and 5:15 while the CC meets are happening, we ask that you please park in the parking lot in front of the building rather than in the gym lot to pick up your students.

Girls’ Basketball Season

Girls in grades 3-5 interested in playing basketball this year will receive information early this week.  The season will begin later this week. Girls’ basketball will be run as an intramural sport with a clinic for skill teaching at the beginning.  Mrs. Wallace will be the coach again this year. All students participating will have to have a signed permission slip and sign up on final forms as well as pay the $5 fee.  Final forms and the fee are one time per year and cover all sports.

Food Drive

Our Student Council sent home information regarding the Food Drive they are sponsoring this week for the Center for Lay Ministries.  Please send in non-perishable non-expired  and non-open food items throughout the week.  There will be a container on the front porch for our mySchool students to participate daily from 9-3 for those mySchool students that would like to make donations.

MySchool Picture Day is MONDAY, September 21

MySchool parents received information regarding picture day from your mySchool teacher with directions on dropping your student(s) off at your appointment time at the outside gym door closest to the playground and then parking and waiting for them to come back out the other gym door.  Please make sure also that you have gone through the coVid screening checklist. If you have any questions or have not yet signed up for a picture appointment time online, please contact the front office early Monday morning at 812-288-4868.

PTO

Our PTO would like to thank all those that participated in the Rapid Fire Pizza night this past week.  The monthly meeting will be this Thursday, September 24 at 6:00 on the front porch of the school.  Thank you to our PTO volunteers Kym Lindell and Alex Longest for helping make our picture days go so smoothly!
