Red Ribbon Week- Drug Free Awareness 

Our Student Council is sponsoring Red Ribbon Week activities.   This is the annual Drug Free Awareness week to remind us to keep our bodies healthy.

Monday– Proud to be Drug Free- wear orange and blue to show Riverside Pride

Tuesday– Drugs are a Fashion Disaster- wear mix match clothes

Wednesday– Pledge to be drug free- Wear red shirts and blue jeans

 

Thursday– Drugs are not in our future- show your favorite college team support with a team shirt

 

Friday– Good Characters Don’t Do Drugs- Fundraiser for Student Council- pay one dollar to dress up as your favorite good book character

October Character Winners

Chess Club

Information regarding after school Chess Club will go home this week.  Students in grades 4-5 that are interested should turn in their permission slips to Mrs. Koopman.  Due to social distancing requirements, space is limited to the first 24 who turn in their slips.

Reminder  We would like to remind everyone that GCCS is a tobacco-free school district.  Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on GCCS property, including the car rider line, and is a violation of Indiana Law and GCCS Board Policy. Please remind your caregivers that may be picking up car riders to refrain from smoking while waiting in the car rider line.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Your child’s teacher will be sending home communication to set up a conference.  If you have any questions or need to make changes, please contact your child’s teacher.  Nov. 3 is set aside for conferences.  There will not be elearning that day.

PTO News

LAST CHANCE TODAY!!!!! You can now order your Riverside spirit gear at the PTO store online by visiting the link below.  Hurry!  The store is only open through 10/25. There are some fun new designs and lots of sweatshirt options available.  Orders will be delivered to your child at school (traditional).  For mySchool families there will be a drive-by pick up night.

REMINDER!! PTO has rolled out their Charleston Wrap fundraiser! Everything is done 100% online this year. All orders will be sent directly to the purchaser via mail. With covid nothing will be ordered directly through the children this year nor delivered by the children. Fundraiser catalogs are still available from the front office.  All families are invited to participate to support our school.  The PTO is working towards funding both technology programs for all our students as well projects to improve our playground.
